With a new grant scheme just announced by Business Victoria, there has never been a better time to make the move to scalable digital solutions. The Technology Adoption & Innovation Program is aimed at supporting Victorian small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s) to onboard innovative technologies or develop innovative, new and commercial technology by co-contributing funding support for projects.
The $5 million Technology Adoption and Innovation Program contains two streams of financial assistance. Businesses may only apply for one of the following streams.
Stream 1 – SME technology and digital adoption
Grants of up to $50,000 for Victorian SMEs to adopt technology or digital solutions to improve their processes and productivity and support their future growth.

Stream 2 – Innovative, commercial technology development
Grants of up to $50,000 for Victorian technology companies to implement defined projects to develop commercial technology or digital products.

Businesses must employ between 5 and 200 full time staff as of 1 September 2020 in order to meet the minimum requirements to be considered an SME. Sole traders who employ workers are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the other criteria.
Successful SME’s will be required to co-contribute a minimum of $20,000 (excluding GST) towards project expenditure. Companies will have up to 12 months to deliver and complete their project, with ongoing reporting also a requirement.
